Lamentation of A Child

I Long for the day
when I returned to the city
to be with my usual play group
that understands my words
and share similar mentality with me
Life in this village is so unbearable
kids of my age don't speak English
They don't look good enough
and have a different attitude
No ice-cream cafe to patronise
no electric supply for TV cartoons
I don't hear any of the kids
talk of visiting an amusement park
sometimes I wish the city
is just two street away
where I would need no fare
to get to my destination as a child
The life of a child to the parents
Is more like that of a sheep to a shepherd
Where you barely influence any circumstance
But go wherever you are taken
